Apple Day
Our Autumn event in 2015 and 2016 was the apple day. A variety of local groups joined us to get in the autumn apple spirit. Activities included apple bobbing, jam making, the smoothie bike and the popular longest peel competition.
Christmas In Abbotswood
It's never too early to think about Christmas! Christmas In Abbotswood has grown in popularity each year, with the local schools singing carols, a Christmas bazaar and of course... Santa!!!
2019:
Clean Up Days
Abbotswood Action Group run frequent community clean up days. Any members of our community are welcome to pop along and help give Abbotswood a tidy up. Tasks could include litter picking, painting, planting, etc... They are usually well attended and help bring the community together.
Compost Day
One of our main projects for 2018 was the removal of the compost heap. The area had not been maintained well and had become amongst other things, an eyesore. Our hardworking team of volunteers, pulled together for a day of manual labour. We may have been tired, sweaty and a bit grubby by the end of the day, but another job well done!
Mercer Volunteer Day
In August 2019 we were joined by a lovely group from Mercer Financial Planning, offering to do a day's volunteering with us. With the help of Dodington Parish Council and St. Nicholas Church and Family Centre we gave them quite a list of tasks to do and they have done a fantastic job! The day was such a success that we are already in talks of welcoming them back next year. We would also like to say a big thank you to Kemps Garden Centre, who donated a selection of plants to Mercer, in order to make Abbotswood just that little bit brighter.

Sustainable September
During September we run many different activities and events all around our main theme of sustainability. We've gone on local nature walks, made art out of litter, had autumn clean up days, hosted and attended various talks. It's great fun, great for your pocket and great for the environment!
Working With The Community
As often as we can we like to get local groups involved with our projects and events. Here's a few examples:
